I just broke my tooth! What do I do?
Call our Eagle River dental office right now and let us know that you are having an emergency. We will get you in as soon as possible, usually the same day.
In the meantime, we'll give you some tips and suggestions to stay comfortable until you are seen. These can include taking an appropriate over-the-counter pain reliever (like Tylenol or Advil), applying an ice pack to your cheek on the side of the damaged tooth, and swishing with a salt-water solution. Relieving pain and reducing inflammation will be our top priorities until we can fix your tooth. If you still have the piece of tooth that broke, please bring it with you to your appointment.
At your emergency appointment, Dr. Woodring will assess your condition and the extent of the damage. Once you are more comfortable, we'll discuss options for repairing your tooth. You may also need a procedure like a root canal, and if the tooth has broken beneath the gumline, we may have to discuss extraction and replacement.
Dr. Woodring has experience dealing with these types of emergencies and has the skill to handle your problem quickly and efficiently so that we can restore your smile. If you are in pain, don't hesitate to call us so that we can determine how quickly you should be seen.
