This page will list the technologies used in your practice.

CEREC One Appointment Crowns

No More Waiting!

CEREC stands for chairside economical restorations of aesthetic ceramic. That's a long explanation that means we create your crowns, veneers, and fillings in our office in one appointment eliminating the need to use a dental lab and wait for your custom restoration.

We use the latest digital scanning technology to create high-quality, strong restorations such as fillings, crowns, onlays, veneers, and bridges. Each restoration is created with precision and care to ensure a good fit and that it will blend in with the appearance of your natural smile. We scan your tooth using digital technology and send the information to our CEREC milling device that will create each restoration out of a single piece of ceramic. Final touches include shading and polishing your restoration so that it matches your smile and looks completely lifelike.

When you come in for your appointment, you will walk out with your new restoration, or even a brand new smile, all on the same day!

Digital X-Rays

Safe and Accurate!

At Midnight Sun Dental Center, we are committed to providing our patients with the safest and best methods of early detection, which is why we take digital x-rays. Not only are digital x-rays high in resolution, but they also emit up to 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays. Much like digital photography, we can change the contrast and zoom in on suspicious areas to take a closer look, making digital x-rays far superior to traditional film x-rays.

Dental x-rays have always been among the lowest in radiation in the medical industry. With the implementation of digital x-rays, we have made them even safer, so you do not have to worry about excessive radiation exposure. Additionally, we take only the necessary images to detect common conditions such as fractures, decay, and bone loss.

DIAGNOdent Cavity Detection

Early Detection Is Best!

Today's technology allows us to detect cavities in their earliest stages. By using DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection, we can find decay that may not even be visible on an x-ray. That means we can detect, isolate, and treat decay before it spreads.

DIAGNOdent utilizes a laser that takes measurements on your tooth's enamel. When a slight softening of the enamel is present, DIAGNOdent will provide a low reading. The higher the reading, the more decay is present. This allows us to take fast, accurate measurements of the health of your teeth. Once we have a positive indicator that decay is present, we can eliminate the decay and place a sealant or filling to protect your tooth.

Utilizing DIAGNOdent not only allows us to treat decay in its earliest stages, it also saves you time in the chair because it is fast and easy!

Computer-Guided Implant Placement

Where we place a dental implant in your bone has a direct effect on how successful, stable, and long lasting your implant will be. That is why we use computer-guided implant placement technology in order to ensure that our patients receive the best results.

We place your dental implant in the strongest, densest bone and use computer technology to identify the ideal location. It also helps us to avoid anatomy such as nerves and sinuses, giving you outstanding stability while we avoid potential complications.

Intraoral Camera

Seeing Is Believing!

A picture is worth a thousand words. When it comes to dentistry, that statement is particularly true. When we detect a dental condition such as a crack, chip, decay, or a broken down restoration, we can tell you about it, but with our intraoral camera, we can also show you!

In intraoral camera is a small precision camera that is designed to take images inside your mouth. We can capture exactly what we see so that we can explain it to you. This helps make your condition more understandable and allows you to have all of the information so that you can make an educated decision regarding your health.

Nitrous Oxide

Anxiety Free Dentistry

We understand that having dental treatment may not be your favorite way to spend your day. In fact, many patients feel anxiety and fear surrounding their dental appointments. That is why we offer notorious oxide as a safe and effective way of helping you relax during treatment.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, creates a sense of well-being and euphoria when inhaled. We control your level of sedation while you are receiving treatment and can make necessary adjustments while you are in the chair.

Nitrous oxide enters and leaves your system quickly, so you will feel completely normal just a few minutes after your procedure. It is safe for most patients and even effective in treating children!
